The VP debate is just around the corner, and judging from the buzz in the blogosphere this might just be the most anticipated debate between Vice Presidential candidates. While some bloggers are holding reservations about Biden (and his tendency to allow his temper to get the best of him), most are spending their time picking apart the more enigmatic candidate, Sarah Palin.
- “Does Senator Joe Biden have a sniper issue? During the Democratic primaries, Senator Hillary Clinton became the laughingstock on nighttime and daytime television, “liberal” blogs, and among Obama supporters for falsely claiming that she was subject to sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia as “First Lady.” Apparently, Joe Biden may have his own snipergate (look here and here), but so far it has not brought Democrats or the media to a lather.” – from Does Biden Have a Sniper Issue?, at Dissenting Justice
- ”...It’s John McCain. And he’s here to save Sarah Palin from the piercing attacks of the seasoned, CBS interviewer…Katie Couric? ” – from ....It’s a bird, It’s a plane…, at The Rural Buss Route
- “Gov. Sarah Palin’s views on abortion are pretty well known. She’s opposed, pretty much across the board. And the entire right-leaning side of the world heralded her and her husband’s decision to go forward with a pregnancy, at 44, that resulted in the April birth of Trig, who has Down syndrome. She barely talks about her infant, except to say that she understands special needs children because of Trig.” – from Palin on Abortion and Gays, at The Caucus: The New York Times Politics Blog
- “Last week, Sarah Palin made the ridiculous claim that she had foreign policy experience because she could see Russia from Alaska. Determine to get a better look, Anderson Cooper 360 correspondent Gary Tuchman went to Little Diomede Island in Alaska to get a better look.” – from Little Diomede Island: Who is Sarah Palin?, at Daily Kos: State of the Nation
- “If Sarah Palin goofs, flounders, stumbles or blunders during her debate against Joe Biden on Thursday night, Biden is going to let it slide.“If she makes a gaffe, he underplays it,” one of the people prepping Biden for his vice presidential debate told me. “At most, he says, ‘I am not sure what Gov. Palin meant there.’”” – from Biden’s strategy: Go easy on Palin, at Politico
